Executive Producer
Zachary Alexander Hamelton, born on October 16, 1991, is an accomplished American post-production professional and former podcaster. Hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Zach's passion for the film industry ignited at a young age. However, his journey into the world of cinema took a unique path, as he initially explored a career in the emergency medical field and even co-owned a cupcake shop before seizing his chance in the film industry. Zach pursued his dream by enrolling at the Digital Animation and Visual Effects School in Orlando, Florida, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in VFX Production.
Zach's career took off when he landed his first major opportunity as a compositor with MPC Vancouver. His impressive contributions include work on notable projects such as "The Strain" (2017), "Justice League" (2017), and "Fifty Shades Freed" (2018), among others. While at MPC, he discovered a passion for the production aspect of the industry.
Driven by his relentless pursuit of knowledge, Zach transitioned to the production side of filmmaking, securing a position with Falcon's Creative Group. Within themed entertainment, he excelled as a production coordinator and later assumed additional roles as a casting director and unit production manager for live-action projects. During his tenure with Falcon's Creative Group, Zach collaborated with esteemed clients like Marvel Entertainment, National Geographic, and PBS. However, his most cherished project was "Halo: Outpost Discovery" (2019), a traveling meta interactive experience, where he served as the unit production manager and lead post-production coordinator.
Despite his success in themed entertainment, Zach harbored a longing to return to the film industry. In 2019, Crafty Apes VFX presented him with the golden opportunity to do just that. Since joining the company, Zach has lent his expertise to more than sixteen film and television projects. He is renowned for his meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication to his clients. Notable credits in his portfolio include "Hustlers" (2019), "Mulan" (2020), "Star Trek: Picard" (2020), and "The Little Things" (2021).
In addition to his thriving professional career, Zach returned to the Digital Animation and Visual Effects school, situated on the back-lot of Universal Studios Florida, where he shared his wealth of experiences as an instructor. Here, he imparted his knowledge and expertise, nurturing aspiring filmmakers by providing valuable guidance in various aspects of production, visual effects, and casting. Moreover, Zach extends his influence through his own company, Throw the Knife Productions, where he continues to contribute to the industry and leaves a lasting legacy for the next generation of filmmakers.
